About the author Bahareh Goodarzi was born in Teheran, Iran, on December 27th 1985. After graduating at the Midwifery Academy in Rotterdam in 2007, Bahareh worked as an independent community midwife for five years. Interested in the politics of midwifery, Bahareh finished a master in Health Management at the Erasmus University. After graduation, she started working as a policy advisor at the Royal Dutch Organization of Midwives and teaching at the Midwifery Academy Amsterdam Groningen. She still teaches, with a focus on physiology, birth and emergency care and reproductive justice. Bahareh will continue teaching at the Midwifery Academy Amsterdam Groningen and research at the department of Midwifery Science focusing on reproductive justice. 198 & APPENDICES
