210 10 CHAPTER 10 ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rebecca Iris Bogaers was born on December 2nd, 1994, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. She graduated from secondary school at Stedelijk College Eindhoven in 2013. After this, she studied Social Psychology at Tilburg University, and she graduated with distinction in 2016. She proceeded with a Research Master’s in Social and Behavioral Sciences, from which she graduated with distinction in 2018. Her master’s thesis focused on physiological predictors (pupil size) of partner choices in online dating. This thesis was later published in the journal ‘Social Cognition’. During her master’s, she also studied how anonymity in tax experiments affects compliance, which was published in ‘the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization’. In 2018 Rebecca started working on her PhD-project on stigma as a barrier to sustainable employability and well-being at work of military personnel with mental illnesses. This PhD-project took place at the Academic Collaborative Center Work and Health of Tranzo, Tilburg University and at the Brain Research and Innovation Centre of the Dutch Ministry of Defense. Her supervisors were Prof. Dr. Evelien Brouwers, Prof. Dr. Jaap van Weeghel and Dr. Elbert Geuze. Currently, Rebecca is working for the Dutch Ministry of Defense as the mental health expert in the Sustainable Health & Readiness Program. In this team, she works on the promotion of the mental health of military and civilian personnel. Additionally, she recently received a grant for a follow-up PhD project which will focus on interventions that target mental health stigma within the Dutch military. She will act as a supervisor for this project.
