Prior criminal history, sexual index characteristics items, and “never lived with a lover for more than two years” were taken from the STATIC-99R. The Cohen’s d (d) and odds ratio (OR) indicates the extent to which variables in the original and replication study differ. When the value of 1,000 is not in the 95% confidence interval, it is 95% certain that the variables differ (This statistically significant differences, p < .05, are bold indicated.) A commonly used interpretation of Cohen’s d is to refer to effect sizes as small (d = 0.2), medium (d = 0.5), and large (d = 0.8; Cohen, 1988). Similar to this classification, OR of 1.68/0.60, 3.47/0.29, and 6.71/0.15 can be interpreted as small, medium, and large, respectively (Chen et al., 2010). DSP = dynamic supervision project; BC = British Columbia; CI = confidence interval
